    The Orange County District Attorney's Office represents the State of Texas in all criminal Cases that occur within Orange County, Texas with the exception of some minor offenses that are filed in the municipal courts.  In addition to criminal responsibilities, the Orange County District Attorney's Office represents Orange County in civil matters, provides legal advice to elected officials and department heads, prosecutes all juvenile cases, represents Child Protective Services in their efforts to protect abused children, represents the State of Texas in asset forfeiture cases, enforces bail bond forfeiture provisions and handles a wide variety of other duties.

    The chief prosecutor in Orange County is John Kimbrough who is serving his fourth term as the elected District and County Attorney.  The office employs eight Assistant  District Attorneys ,two Criminal Investigators, a Victim Assistance Coordinator  and eight Legal Secretaries.
