The District Judges hear felony criminal cases and civil cases involving the maximum jurisdictional

limits for the State of  Texas.  The criminal cases could be anything from a third offense D.W.I. to

Capital Murder.  They also hear domestic matters such as divorces, child custody, adoption,

paternity, and termination of parental rights.
