ORANGE COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE

readtosu.gif (19765 bytes)
The Orange County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office performs approximately 74,000 vehicle registrations and 15,000 vehicle title transfers each year.  Orange County has approximately 54 automobile dealers.  By working closely with the Motor Vehicle Division of the Texas Department of Transportation and our auto dealers we hope to offer our customers the most convenient and efficient service possible.

Since the introduction of the Texas Department of Transportation's computerized Registration and Title System (RTS) in 1995, the transaction time for registrations and titles in our offices has been reduced to five to eight minutes.   Also, titles are now delivered to customers approximately two weeks from the transaction date instead of six to eight weeks, as it was before RTS was implemented.

We have two tax office locations to assist you with your vehicle transactions.  We also have one license renewal location in Orange County.  For more information you can click on the "Office Locations" button at the top side of the screen.

A wide variety of forms are required to process the various transactions involving vehicle.  To view or print some of the most commonly used forms, please click "Commonly Used Forms" at the top of the screen.

The Texas Department of Transportation also offers a number of services.   By clicking on the "TXDOT" button at the top you will be linked with their home page.  They also offer a wide variety of specialized license plates.   You can show your support for your favorite Texas College or University, Humane Society (Animal Friendly), Parks & Wildlife.
