The purpose of the Orange County LEPC is to:

• Carry out for Orange county those responsibilities established for the LEPC by Public Law 99-499, Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA), Title III, and the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) .  The LEPC bylaws were last updated in November 2014.  Click here to view bylaws.
• Assist in developing, training and testing of hazardous substances emergency response plans for jurisdictions within Orange County.
• Develop procedures for regulated facilities to provide notification to the LEPC in accordance with EPCRA.
• Provide public notification of committee activities.
• Implement other related activities legally required by the Federal, State or County Government or Officials.
