 Anne Reed District Clerk 

The Orange County District Clerk’s Office is a Constitutional Office Created by the Texas Constitution, Art. 5, Section 9. The District Clerk is an elected official who serves a four-year term.

The District Clerk Provides support for the following Courts in Orange County:

  • 3 District Courts (128th, 163rd and 260th)
  • 2 County Courts at Law (family law cases)
  • Attorney General Court
  • CPS Cluster Court

The District Clerk is Custodian and Recorder of all court pleadings and papers that are part of any cause of action, civil, felony criminal, family, and delinquent taxes in all courts served by the Clerk. In addition, the District Clerk’s Office is responsible for:

  • Indexes and secures all court records.
  • Enters judgments of the court under the direction of the judge.
  • Collects court cost, filing fees and fines.
  • Issues citations, notices, temporary restraining orders, warrants, capias, writs, abstracts of judgment, and subpoenas
  • Handles funds held in the Registry and money awarded to minors
  • Coordinates the Jury Panel Selection for both Petit and Grand Jury.
  • Prepares Civil and Criminal Appeals for the 9th Court of Appeals
