Claiborne West Park is located 12 miles west of Orange, Texas, on IH 10 and is a living memorial to Claiborne West, who played an important role in making Texas independent from Mexico.  The park is a wooden recreation area comprising 453 acres of land.  It is a wildlife and bird sanctuary and part of The Great Coastal Birding Trial.  Recreational facilities include a tennis court, softball field, disc golf course, horseshoe and washer court, and a mountain bike trail.

This park includes two playgrounds, six shelters with barbecue grills-three with water, electricity, and bathrooms, and more picnic tables located among the trees, and campgrounds for primitive camping.  The pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout in January and February.  There is an Amphitheater which is popular for weddings and band concerts.  Visitors can walk the five miles of trails in the nature preserve and watch the birds and animals native to Southeast Texas. Shelters are available by reservation only for $20 per site through the Orange County Park Office - 409-745-2255.

Bluebird Park & Boat Ramp is located at 102 Farragut Avenue off of Simmons Drive in Orange, Texas This park includes a boat dock, boat ramp, one large picnic pavilion with a BBQ pit, picnic tables and game tables, a small playground, and three small picnic pavilions.  No reservations are needed.  Bluebird Park is open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Raymond Gould Park is located at 385 Claiborne Street in Vidor, Texas. This park includes a small playground, large lighted gazebo, quarter mile, shaded walking track, pickleball courts, picnic tables, benches and restroom facilities.  No reservations are needed, open 24 hours a day.

The Raymond Gould Community Center is located near the park and is available by reservation only through the Orange County Park Office - 409-745-2255.
